10 Best Places in Hong Kong Must Be Explored – Hong Kong is a fascinating and fantastic city to explore, has many different things to see and is perfect for a vacation spot with your partner. In this review, you will find many ideas about things to do while visiting in Hong Kong city.
Hong Kong offers a wide selection of sights, ranging from temple tours, has beautiful tours and also cool air. Strong art and culture is a special attraction for tourists who are enjoying a holiday in the City of Hong Kong.
1). Avenue of Stars
Avenue of Stars is something I try to do but during my trip, there is some renovation/construction work so it’s closed. This street is located along the banks of Kowloon and has various statues and hand placards from famous celebrities.
It will also be a great place to enjoy the seaside city and take pictures of interesting and beautiful scenery.
Address: Avenue of Stars, Tsim Sha Tsui
2). Goldfish Market
The carp market is a bit like a street full of pet stores, although the main items sold are fish and other aquatic animals, including frogs, turtles.
Interesting enough to walk along this road, and if you’re not from Asia, you’ll most likely see something you’ve never seen before in other resorts.
Address: Goldfish Market, Mong Kok
3). Knutsford Terrace
I found this path by accident and I am happy to do it. It has a great vibe with lots of bars lining the streets. The price for alcohol is not too cheap, but it’s Hong Kong for you.
4). Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery
On Lantau Island to the west of central Hong Kong is the Po Lin Monastery and Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha). The monastery is over 100 years old and one of the most important in the region.
It is very popular, in part because Tian Tan Buddha was completed in 1993. The statue is one of the largest outdoor Buddha statues in the world with an impressive 34 meters tall.
From the top of the stairs to the Buddha statue you can also admire the scenery around and the beautiful sea view, which might give you a nice break from the main city.
The monastery is quite far from the center of Hong Kong, so if you come from that direction it may take a while. So for that reason, I would suggest visiting more than one day.
Address: Ngong Ping, Lantau Island
5). Go on a Harbour Cruise
Aqua Luna is a typical red sailboat that you might see in many pictures. There are various cruises available such as an afternoon discovery tour, a night tour and the Symphony of Lights cruise. From the ship, you will get some fantastic city perspective.
6). The Peak Experience
One of Hong Kong’s main attractions is the Peak Experience. It involves the arrest of Peak Tram, which is one of the oldest magic trains in the world, up to a steep path to the Puncak Tower.
The tower is located in Victoria Gap close to Victoria Peak at an altitude of 396 meters above sea level. Once at the top, you then head to Sky Terrace 428 where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the city.
The view from the terrace is fantastic both day and night, but if you can only visit once I recommend catching the tram a few hours before sunset, allowing you to enjoy the view from the sunset into the evening.
Also at the Peak Tower, there are numerous shops and restaurants and other attractions such as The Peak Tram Historical Gallery, Madame Tussauds, and Madness 3D Adventure.
Address: 33 Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong
7). Street Night Market
I was impressed by the night market that stretched far enough along Temple street and had local items, such as paintings and gifts, as well as clothing, electronic goods, and many other items. Nearby you will find many restaurants that offer typical food from Hong Kong city.
Address: Temple St, Mong Kok
8). Enjoy the Skyline from Kowloon Public Pier
The public dock in southern Kowloon provides stunning views of Hong Kong Island. There is a nice sitting area too, making it a great place to go and relax at night or around sunset.
Address: Kowloon Public Pier, Tsim Sha Tsui
For the kids, Hong Kong Disneyland would be a great day out. The park is located on Lantau Island and is easily reachable using the MTR (metro).
Address: Hong Kong Disneyland, Lantau Island

10). Sky100 Observation Deck
The Sky100 Observation Deck at the ICC building gives visitors fantastic bird watching to Hong Kong. The observation deck is located on the 100th floor, 393 meters above sea level. From the deck, you can see panoramic views all over Hong Kong.
During my visit, I prefer the viewpoint north of Hong Kong Harbor. I feel this angle allows you to understand how dense the city is.
If you have time by your side, it’s best to ride around the sunset, where you can enjoy the beautiful light and color, and see the night lights on.
